FIND OUR EXPERTS

To find expert assistance, simply page down and enter your topic in the site Search box. This brings up a screen that permits you to search User Profiles. Click User Profiles and your list of experts will appear.

COMPLETE YOUR MEMBER PROFILE

To do this, you must LOGIN on the top left.

Enter:
Username: provided in your introductory email
Password: provided in your introductory email

This will take you to the website’s front page, and you will see NAVIGATION at the top of the list of links on the left. (That is how you know you are logged in.) In the list, which now offers you more options than you had as a guest visitor, you’ll see a link entitled, “My Account”. Click on that link to see what’s already entered for you.

It is possible to have LOTS of information about yourself listed in this profile. This may be helpful to you professionally as you search for a job, look for consulting opportunities, or simply as a way to become better known to your colleagues. If you click on the EDIT link, you will be able to edit the main page of your profile. You should definitely change your password to something private and personal, so that others cannot mess with your information. Once you’ve changed everything you want on this page, be sure to go to the bottom of the page and click on SUBMIT. This essentially saves that information in our database, and must be done every time you change information anywhere in your profile.

Amazingly, this only scratches the surface of your profile options! Now go back into the EDIT area. This time, go into the next level down by clicking on CONTACT INFORMATION. You’ll see a host of areas to complete. The items marked with a * are mandatory for completion. This ensures that our database is up to date! Importantly, if you don’t want others to have particular contact information on you, you have the option of keeping personal information private by checking the boxes.

What’s great about this database is that it is searchable. For instance, if a colleague needs help with something, they can search the User Profiles to see who in our chapter knows about a given topic. If you have listed that topic in your Areas of Specialty, a link to your User Profile will come up. This will be a phenomenal tool to connect our professional community. Feel free to upload a small photo of yourself, and you can even enter your full resume or bio in the Professional Information section!

Always remember to page down and click: SUBMIT when you are done.

Welcome aboard!

Each chapter member is entitled to their own association email address. This may be helpful if you are in transition, or if you simply want to keep your association email separate from your other email. To obtain your email address, please contact the site administrator at admin@nnjastd.org [1]. You will be asked for a preferred password for the setup, and will be directed on the setup [2] via MS Outlook, Outlook Express or Thunderbird if you wish to have the email routinely downloaded to your own computer. Alternatively, you will have the option of using this email account online via either horde or SquirrelMail. By default, email accounts are assigned a maximum size of 250 MB. If you need more space, contact the site administrator. Reasonable requests will be accommodated.
