Professional Background

Karen M. Nowosad is the Founder and Director of The Gardner Associates, a human resource consulting firm whose mission is to help individuals and organizations acquire skills and behaviors that will assist them in developing a positive environment where they can thrive.  Karen has over 20 years experience in education, training and development, and human resource practices.

 

Karen received a B.S. in Education, with a concentration in English from Duquesne University.  She received her Master of Arts Degree from Kean University where she also attended certification courses in Training and Development.  Before entering corporate life, Karen taught English and Reading skills in several New Jersey public schools and at Kean University.

 

Her corporate experience includes working as Manager, Training and Development for several units of The CIT Group, Inc.  She designed and delivered training programs for job skill training, computerization projects, management development, sales, customer service and orientation programs.  Karen was also an Employment Supervisor for CIT where she recruited and performed job skill assessments and work force planning.

 

In 1990, Karen founded The Gardner Associates, and has established a reputation of providing quality performance consulting, customized training, and coaching services.

 

Throughout the years, Karen has worked with clients in a variety of industries including transportation, finance, health care, manufacturing, retail and government.  Clients range from small and medium size businesses to Fortune 1000 companies including American Express, Campbell’s Soup, and Public Service Gas and Electric.

Karen is active in the community through her volunteer activities with ASTD.  Locally, she served as President of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of ASTD.  On the National level, she served as the 2003 Chairperson of ASTD’s Leadership Design Team that is responsible for planning the organization’s annual Leader’s Conference for chapters and networks throughout the world.
